My wife and I love movies and we both have some favorite TV shows we like to watch, but by far, our combined favorite show on TV is the Amazing Race. For the past few years we have followed the Race all over the world, living vicariously through the contestants on the show. Many of the tasks they are given to preform would make it on my list for a dream vacation. We have contemplated applying on several occasions to be on the show as we would both love the experiences gained, and the potential of a million dollar prize doesn’t hurt either. I am sure that the presence of TV cameras adds to the tension, and the competition that can arise between the teams adds complexity. However, the opportunity to travel all over the world and experience the best of each destination would be truly remarkable.
In case you missed it, this season’s premier aired Sunday night. The teams began in Gloucester, Massachusetts, the oldest seaport in America, and travel first to London where they complete in medieval tasks such as scaling the castle wall and taking out a knight in shinning armor with a large wooden catapult. This is exactly why I enjoy the Race so much, anything is possible and leads can change at any moment. Also, there are valuable travel hints and tips available for those looking for them.
Some of the awesomeness associated with the Race. If you aren’t watching it yet, start!
