As anyone who dwells in upstate New York can attest, during the winter months everyone spends more time inside. This phenomenon, caused by our end of the big blue ball tilting away from the bigger yellow ball, means that the days get shorter and often times we may never see daylight during the hours we are actually home. One positive effect of the increased number of hours spent inside the home is an increased capacity to view, in their entirety, feature-length films.
I love movies, and thanks to a combination of an increased “instant play” library hosted by Netflix, and an absence of cable in the apartment, we have had the opportunity to view many movies we have missed out on. Here is the list of movies and TV series that I have viewed in the past week or so.
This is in addition to the casual television episodes and documentaries I don’t include in the view count. I always enjoy a modern blockbuster, but more recently I have spent some time exploring the roots of film making and viewing films that have shaped the progression of the industry we know today. And like every year I will surly get a heavy dose of holiday themed movies, both current and past.
What sort of activities do you participate more in during the winter months? Do you have a favorite holiday movie?
